ENES is dead, long live ENES !

The idea has begun to grow up and finally it came to life : ENES' story has to end.

Since April 2006, we did not share any new information on our website. It is a long gap of time but in fact, we even did not see it passing. Our busy life is in fault.

On another hand, several technical problems disappointed us : we never succeeded in dumping efficiently a game. 10 times we dumped a game, 10 different dumps we had. It's sadly not enough to convince ourselves.

ENES was however an interesting journey for us. It gave us a chance to discover the electronic side of games, to enlighten some people who were enchanted to share their own rare cartridges.

By the way, we finally leave the scene by thanking all our partners and participants. Thanks, really.

Good news concerning the dumpers

After a more than two months silent period, we come back again. In reality, some annoying things delayed a bit our initial schedule.

The group is now relying on three different dumpers :
* Shaghetto 3
* Spaghetto 4
* CopyNES

Our two different teams, geographicaly separated, now owns at least one dumper each. Sending games will be easier.

By the way, the CopyNES is not actually part of our work. We bought it in order to compare Spaghetto dumps, to make sure they are really clean.

More news are about to come, a new release of Carbonara, our home dump extracting tool.

In order to start this new year in good conditions, here is the picture of our new version of our dumper : Spaghetto 3. Its schematics are the same as the previous version but there are less cables.

Another dumper is under working but we are awaiting for hardware supplies to complete it. We plan to finish it on about mid-February.

Maniac Mansion (I) dumped

We were evocating this game for our previous dump of Maniac Mansion (G) and we serve it now as your Christmas guift : all italian gamers can now play to the NES version of Maniac Mansion in italian without any translation patch or neither with the original cartridge.

We are awaiting to check the validity of the dump but it will rather be correct ;)

As usual, the dump is available on our test board. If you need to gain an access to it, just contact us. It prevails only if you donate something, helped us or you are part from a dump group.

Mission Impossible (F) dumped

After 2 weeks of MMC3 learning, ENES is proud to announce our first MMC3 dump which seems to be valid though ! So the Mission Impossible (F) dump is already available in our test forum so if you want/can test it, feel free to get involved.

In order to conclude on this very good news, here is a photography of the home-made module which helped us to understand how the MMC3 works. Notice that each MMC3 pin rely on a LED.

Maniac Mansion (G) validated

As you may notice on our undumped list, the Maniac Mansion (G) status changed. It is now considered as a good dump and has been forwarded to Cowering in order to add it to the GoodNES with all our latest dumps.

Some other games are awaiting a dump but we need to improved our knowledge to dump them.

Stay tuned.

Maniac Mansion (G) is dumped

As we dumped (at least) the french version of Maniac Mansion, we informed you we may dump soon the german version of this game ... the No-Intro group lent us since a year !

It is now done : the german version of Maniac Mansion was dumped yesterday. The rom seems to be correct so we are entrusting it will be a good dump.

And it will not be the least in the same case because we also changed the status for our 2 last dumps : Monopoly (F) and Addams Family, the (E). Since today, take them as dumped.

Have a look to our updated NES undumped list to be minded of all recent changes.

Soon, the italian version of Maniac Mansion ;-)

Just received, already dumped ! Our recently aquired games have been opened and we were lucky enough to encounter on games we could dump.

It is with a lot of pleasure we now provide the dumps, for testing purpose, on our board (reserved to ENES helpers).

You may notice that the game Addams Family is a Multi 3 cart, english, french and german.

Maniac Mansion (F) dumped

We could summarize this post by the sentence "AT LEAST".

You may know that ENES creation is mainly due to Maniac Mansion when we learned the games was not already dumped in its french version. All the work produced until now has been done for this very simple goal : to dump Maniac Mansion.

The job is now done. The german version is planned for soon, hoping there will be no problem this time.

Ghostbusters 2 and Operation Wolf dumped

ENES is proud to announce we have successfuly dumped 2 new games :
- Ghostbusters 2 (E)
- Operation Wolf (E)
If Ghostbusters was only a confirmation we were handling the B2 revision of the MMC1, it was another story for Operation Wolf, ruled by the B3 revision. More than a single digit, it was the timer which was cycled differently in comparison of the MMC1 B2.

As Maniac Mansion (F) is also a MMC1 B3 cartridge, we tried to dump it but no way. We are wondering about a physical problem on the cart. We will try to dump the german cart as soon as possible to confirm or cancel this hypothesis.

During this time, we are going to work on the MMC3C because we already own 2 games of that type.
